Boutique hotel Planinka is made as a refurbishment of a hotel constructed in 1978. Since it was outdated, non-insulated and with inappropriate functional layout, it was time to refurbish it with entirely new look. The client saw the wealth of the location, the energy of the surrounding and that was the main concept, to make a rebirth of the building with local cultural and natural substances in mind. Completely natural materials like wood, stone, clay and iron are used through exterior and also interior of the building. The result is a building, which is not a victim of contemporary architecture and trendy approaches in competition to excel and dominate the area, but a building integrated into a local cultural and natural environment with a great respect to it.
